Clouds over Alaska by Robert Swetz

Robert Swetz aka Vegas Bob was up in Alaska over the Labor Day weekend visiting family and taking photographs.

Here is one of the many photographs that Robert Swetz took on his last visit to Alaska that was taken on the Kenai Peninsula.

Clouds at ActiveRain by Robert Vegas Bob Swetz

Through all of Robert Vegas Bob Swetz's life clouds have always been fascinating to look at and photograph.

With our imaginations as children and as adults we can see characters and pick out different figures and more within the clouds we view.

Sometimes clouds are white and fluffy like cotton in the photo (above) or can be mean and create a figure (below) which looks like a strong arm holding a gun or fingers pointing.

Below is a photo I took of Caesar pointing to the clouds in Las Vegas Nevada, so what was Caesar pointing at?

So for anyone that likes viewing clouds like Vegas Bob, taking photographs or videos, please post them to the "Clouds at ActiveRain" group at the ActiveRain network.

Clouds are like snowflakes, they are never the same and clouds can be filled with fascinating colors from sunrise to sunset.

Clouds over Turnagain Arm Alaska by Robert Swetz 

Turnagain Arm is located south of Anchorage and is located on the northwestern part of the Gulf of Alaska.

When driving south of Anchorage towards Girdwood, Seward, Hope, Homer, Soldotna and Kenai Alaska there are large mountain ranges and great views for taking photographs.

I have driven around the Turnagain Arm over 20 different times in the last 2 years while staying in Alaska and it seems like every time I drive it there are different clouds, shadows which make for new photos each time.

This wonderful cloud photo was taken early Saturday morning 8/27/2016 on our way to Homer Alaska for our halibut fishing trip. As you can see in the photo there was fog between the water and mountains along with the brilliant cloud formation that made for some great photos.

Later in the day the clouds all disappeared while we where in Homer and it has been beautiful and sunny ever since which makes for a wonderful vacation ;o)

I wrote a post about the Clouds Group I founded back in 2008 at the Active Rain network.

I knew that I had taken a video along with this wonderful cloud reflection of Walker Lake in Nevada, so I wanted to share this video along with the photo.

I have photographed hundreds of clouds over the years and taken many videos, but this video and photograph have to be by far my favorite.
