Happy All Saints Day from Ferndale California & Robert Vegas Bob Swetz
Today November 1st is "All Saints Day" and Robert Swetz would like to wish everyone a wonderful day.
Today is a Celebration of The Dead ...
A Celebration for loved Family & Friends that have passed into a new life


Here are some wonderful photographs that I took 2 weeks ago at Ferndale Cemetery located very close to Eureka in Northern California.
 There are some tombstones that date all the way back to the early 1800's from Settlers that came from parts of Europe.
Let's try and remember our Family & Friends that have passed because life is very short compared to eternity and our bodies will NOT live forever either ;o)

Success one day at a Time - Lesson from a Farmer - Ferndale California 

A young man from the city graduated from college with a degree in journalism and got a job at a small town newspaper. 
One of his first assignments was to interview an old farmer who lived twenty miles outside of town.
As he sat with the grizzled man on his front porch, the young journalist looked at his notepad and starting asking his questions. One of the first he asked was, "Sir, what time do you go to work in the morning?"
The old farmer chuckled and replied, "Son, I don't go to work. I'm surrounded by it.?

We can learn a lesson from the old farmer. Opportunities are a lot like his work. They are everywhere. But the problem is that we often don't have the eyes to see them.
As you approach each day, look around. Be aware. If you don't see opportunities, remember that it's not because they aren't there. You're always surrounded by them. You simply need to open your eyes and see them. The act on them.

    Robert Vegas Bob Swetz Ferndale Northern California 10-17-2014

    Vegas Bob has been visiting Ferndale in Northern California for the last 30 years. 
    Every time VB hikes in the Redwood Trees in Orick and the Avenue of the Giants, VB drives to Ferndale.


    Ferndale California dates back to the mid 1800's with some very old history. The movie "The Majestic" with Jim Carey was filmed in and around Ferndale.


    Here are some wonderful photographs that I took today on my visit to Ferndale.
    The last 2 photos were taken at The Ferndale Cemetery. In the closeup of the tombstone (below) is the writing of a young man with the last name HENRY.
    This young man passed away at the age of 27 years old in 1876.


    Such a very young age to pass away at 27 and in the year of 1876 ... "Wow" such a long time ago.
