Purchasing Real Estate in Alaska by Robert Swetz

My first visit to Alaska was back in 2001 and I have been living and traveling back and forth to Alaska from the Lower 48 for around 4 years now.
I have traveled all over the USA and other parts of the world and I have yet to find a place as quiet and beautiful as Alaska.

Northern California, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Minnesota and other states have come close to the beauty Alaska has to offer but not quite as quiet and or serene. 

I am working purchasing yet my second piece of real estate within the Last Frontier in April 2018.
Sure the winters are long and the temperatures cooler and cold, but I don't have to live and or stay in Alaska during the winters. And many others that are retired and or close to my age don't stay in Alaska during the long winters either.

I figure another 3-4 years working as a glazier in construction and I will hang up my hat, retire and spend 4-5 months in beautiful Alaska on my properties.
I will keep a condo in Las Vegas and continue to sell real estate in Las Vegas and also purchase some property in northern California around Eureka close to the redwood trees.

My wife has connections and family in the Philippines and Myanmar so we may travel and stay there from time to time also.
But as for hiking in pure beauty with very few people to bother me Alaska will be the number one place where I will be hanging my hat.

All of these photos I took were taken around Hatcher Pass north of Wasilla approx. 40 miles north of Anchorage Alaska.
These photos were taken during the summer months and I have also left some video footage during the winter months with plenty of snow.

Robert Swetz aka Vegas Bob is in search of a special lake property for future retirement along with other lake properties for investment and or family and friends.

The Lake Properties that I am interested in need to be around areas with mountains, streams and snow.

The three photos above were taken on lakes north of Anchorage and these are and example of what I am looking for.

Vegas Bob is counting the days before he visits Alaska "The Last Frontier"

Every day that comes to an end brings me closer to my next visit to "The Last Frontier" in beautiful Alaska.

And for anyone that has been following Vegas Bob and his  posts about Alaska know how excited he is to get back up there ;o)

In fact most of Vegas Bob's friends ask him all the time, why he doesn't live up in Alaska?

The second week of July will make Robert Swetz's 5 time to Alaska. Robert's first visit was in 2000, followed by three visits in 2014 and now July in 2015.

Vegas Bob is a very spur of the moment person and when a opportunity comes along or a chance to go somewhere, VB just goes.

Vegas Bob was asked by a person he hardly knew in Las Vegas for almost three years if he wanted to visit them in Alaska, and the rest is history.

Vegas Bob's favorite state in the "Lower 48" for beauty is California and then Oregon.

Vegas Bob has never been to Hawaii yet ...

But when it comes to beauty in all the states in America, Alaska is running 1st, followed by California, Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, etc.

On my first visit to Alaska in 2001, I spent 7 days driving from Anchorage to Seward, Homer and Wasilla which is approx 1500 miles.

The memories of Alaska in 2001 lasted for many years after and at that time I was enlightened in Seward Alaska.

When I was in Seward in 2001 I climbed a mountainside made of shale, approx 1000 feet. And when I reached the top, I had a 360 degree view of Seward and the bay.

The peace of mind that ran through my mind and body was very hard to explain. And while I was siting there looking at the "Beauty of Alaska"and there were 4 large Bald Eagles flying only 30 feet from me going in large circles.

I just could not believe what I was seeing, and when I arrived back in the Lower 48 I wrote about my experience and told everyone.

Since my visit in 2001, I had the chance to visit 4 different times in 2014 with approx 90 days out of the 4 visits.

On my visit in 2014, I went to some of the same places I had visited in 2001. Only to find the "Beauty of Alaska" even more intense. Followed by many new places I had never seen.

I have traveled all through the States of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Minnesota, Idaho, Oregon, California, Utah, Tennessee, New Mexico and another dozen states in America. I have even traveled to Thailand, Burma, Singapore, Taiwan and other countries in South East Asian.

And through all my traveling, I have never come across any areas like the "Beauty of Alaska"

There have been areas that have come close, but just not as beautiful, wide open and untouched.

I know there are places in the world that might be as beautiful and or more beautiful, but I want to see them for myself.

I have future plans of going to New Zealand and I do believe that there are areas of beauty that may come close to the "Beauty of Alaska" but I must see it to believe it.

All of the photographs on this post were taken in the fall of 2014. 

I have hundreds more and will be taking new photos of the "Beauty of Alaska in 2015.
