Robert Swetz hikes in Red Rock Canyon on "Good Friday" & "Easter Weekend"

Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz spent 4 hours hiking in Red Rock Canyon yesterday and it was totally refreshing. It was so refreshing that Robert is going to go for another hike today Saturday 4-7-2012 and then spend "Easter Day" with the family.
Vacant Land in Red Rock Canyon has increased 4-5 times in value over the last 3 years, and by looking at the photographs on this post ... well you can see why.
Red Rock Canyon in approx 30 minutes from Las Vegas.

There were some flowers in bloom and I would think in another 2-3 weeks most of Red Rock Canyon will be in bloom. The reason Red Rock is behind on the flowers blooming is because of it's high elevation.

While I came across some people horseback riding, there are several horse corrals around the Red Rock Canyon area and riding horses is very popular in this area.

So on your next visit to Las Vegas Nevada check with the hotel where you are staying and find out if any shuttles of tour guides go out to Red Rock Canyon, it is worth the visit.

Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz was hiking at Red Rock Canyon Nevada like he has been for over 10 years now. Today at 11:00am 2-3-2012 was no different then any other day, around 60 degrees and beautiful weather. I had a book in hand that I was going to read after I found a nice quiet place to relax to read, meditate and take in the beautiful scenery.

I found a quite place to sit and read under a small natural rock arch around 30 feet up a small cliff. After reading some of my book I laid down on my back with the warm sun beating on me. I feel asleep and was woken by a nightmare that I can't remember. I was so startled by my dream that I stood up so fast and hit my head very hard on the top of my head and blacked out. Then all I remember was running down the 30 foot cliff I was on, and as I was running I could feel the pain of my hands, arms, knees and other parts of my body being banging by rocks and I was running. As I was running I could feel my body being pulled down like I was dying, I became so frightened because my mind kept going in and out as if I was being taken to die by the earth I was running upon. My mind was stronger then my body and I kept telling myself no-no don't close your eyes, stay focused or you will die.

I saw a man down below as I was running down the rocks, and I started running towards him. I wasn't sure if I was on earth or a part of heaven, and as I starting running towards the man I started screaming "Help Me"

When I found out that he was real I almost started crying because I hadn't died. I tried to explain to him what had happened but it was very difficult, and he asked if there was anything he could do.

As I looked up the 30 foot cliff I had just run down from I noticed my prescription sun glasses and book were back up from where I had hit my head and blacked out. I sat down for a few minutes and slowly hiked back up, grabbed my glasses and book and headed back down. 

I am home now as I am writing this and I have bruises and scratches all over my body and a huge bump on my head.

All I can say is I will never forget this experience of almost dying, I am already looking at life in a different perspective and "I Thank GOD I am still here"

Hiking at Red Rock Canyon 20 minutes from Las Vegas Nevada

Red Rock Canyon only 20 minutes from Las Vegas Nevada is where Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz will be hiking and meditating the rest of the week.
Robert will be hiking early mornings before noon and really trying to get in touch with "Mother Nature" ... ;o)

Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz has been hiking around "Calico Basin" at Red Rock State park in Nevada only 20 minutes from Las Vegas.
Vegas Bob and his wife Nu Nu had their eyes on a 5 acre partial around 3 years ago. When ever VB would go hiking around Calico Basin, which is about 2-3 times per week he would always stand on the top of the 5 acre partial. VB would daydream that some day he would purchase the property.
3 years ago VB & Nu Nu met the owners on the property, at that time VB asked the owner how much they were asking for the 5 acre partial. The owner said he would sell the partial for 275,000 CASH. VB asked if they would take 50,000 down and carry the balance for 5 years, the owner said no ... that they wanted cash for another investment.
Well ... VB was hiking around Calico Basin today 1-18-2012 and there was a Real Estate sign on the property, so VB called the agent to ask if the property was still for sale.
The agent called back and said the 5 are partial was in contract and sold for ...


2 Million dollars ...


When I listened to the message on my voice mail I almost started crying, called my wife Nu Nu and mentioned to her that we missed the chance of making 1.5 Million dollars in a 3 year period ... ;o(


Vegas Bob is very and will run with his instincts next time ...
